What they wanted

Passionate in his desire to give back, NFL Hall of Fame star and philanthropist Brian Dawkins wanted to establish a Foundation to help disadvantaged young people, families and communities, and to promote spiritual, mental and physical wellness. However, he wanted to ensure from the outset that the Foundation’s work had a strong narrative, strategic direction and sustainable structure.

What we did

We ran a day long workshop with Brian to explore the ambitions for his Foundation and to share best practice around activism, philanthropy, athlete engagement and sport for social change. Following the productive session, we took the learnings and created messaging and a comprehensive strategy based on his values, priorities and the short and long-term impact he wished to achieve.  Designed to have both community wide and individual impact, the strategy sets out three strands of engagement to enable Brian to support those who want to take positive steps in their life but lack the resource or support to do so, and to inspire and educate through a Values curriculum that could be templated for schools and community organizations. 

What happened

Brian and his team felt that our concept thoroughly captured the goals of the ‘Brian Dawkins Impact Foundation’, and thinkBeyond Talent was retained to put the strategy into action. Our work encompasses creating materials for the Foundation to clearly set out its purpose and impact, overseeing the development of the Brian Dawkins Values Program and identifying the charity partner for the Foundation’s single mother and college grants.
