Josh Taylor

The undefeated Scottish boxer and Commonwealth Games gold medallist is ranked in the top five for pound-for-pound fighters in the world, and became Britain's first undisputed Champion in the 4 belt-era after beating Jose Ramirez in May 2021.

Born in Prestonpans Scotland, Josh ‘The Tartan Tornado’ Taylor is one of the most decorated boxers in his division and at the top of his game. Josh started boxing at the age of 15 and at the age of 20 he went on to win a silver medal in the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi. Josh's formidable rise in boxing continued.   

At the London Olympic Games 2012, he became the first lightweight boxer from Scotland to qualify for the Olympics in 60 years. In 2014, Taylor reached a second Commonwealth Games final, where he would win gold in Glasgow.

In his professional career in 2015, he has become a unified light-welterweight champion, and has held the WBA, IBF and Ring magazines titles since 2019. In May 2021, Taylor fought previously undefeated Jose Ramirez for the WBC and WBO in a winner-takes-all belts finale in Las Vegas. Taylor defeated Ramirez emphatically and became only the sixth boxer in history to hold all four belts in a division.

Away from the ring, Josh's passion can be seen following his local team Hibernian. In his downtime, he enjoys spending time with his family and exploring the great Scottish outdoors.
